Just wondering if anyone else is looking into making anything?
So far I've soent today learning the basics, how to build a dungeon, and add all the extras (lights, creatures, clutters, etc.), and then finding out how to add it to the real game world! Which I've got to say, is very fun, because I now have my own dungeon added to the world, and it blends in seemlessly, hehe!
The main thing I want to look at though, is textures. I want to try and make some custom textures and add new weapons to the game, as well as sprucing up some of the lower res older ones.
So tell me, am I alone? Or are others looking at this too? Because it could be fun to work on a little group mod, all pitching in. Maybe one person on level design (including linking areas and path design), another on clutter/lighting/npcs, and then another one or two on textures or quests. (You can add completely custom quests! :D)

Well Bak, thats not really a mod so much as someone jsut picking up thats girls head and abusing the ragdoll physics to simulate some sort of sexual act. Quite why you always seem to be the one to post these things, I do wonder. Do you look for things like this alot? ;)

He's one of the adolescents in the background giggling :D
but yeh id love to be able to add some areas... in what way is your bit seamlessly added mate? Did you replace a door to somewhere, or add a door etc?
Ooh Id like to add some places to go underwater... and if possible underwater quests, to give real purpose to swimming hehehe.

Well so far, I know how to make areas from scratch. I know how to add them to the real game world. Not replacing others, adding them in myself, and editting the landscape to accomodate (shading, textures, shape, etc)
I know how to add new Races, Birthsigns, Classes, Factions, and Spells. I'm working on Quests. I know how to add new textures for eyes and the like, and also for skins. Although I need to extract the originals to get the layout right first. I'll make some later!
It's easy to completely edit the real world too, and add in any items etc. you feel are missing. Even make it so you own the Imperial Castles! hehe
Anyways, the main thing I want to play with is looking at the textures for skins etc. Oh, and my favourite thing I've added so far is completely white eyes. Looks great for a monk class! :D
If you want me to send you my dungeon, lemme know, it's not very big!
And with the eyes, I've got someone elses eye mod, that adds about 20 new eye colours to the game, and then looking into how it was done. Then I'm simply attaching my own to the end of it to save having multiple mods for the same feature. So I can send you that too if you want it.
The Dungeon is 144kb, and the eyes 21kb. Its really great though, because they are just little scripts to set things up in game, and pull everything form the main game files. Brilliant mod system! :D
EDIT - Sorry, the eyes mod is 900kb because you need the new texture files! Still not big though. Both added to my space anyway, see my Sig! Ugh, my site is down for maintenance atm, if you want them though, I'll send over MSN or something.

Oh, now I'm jsut learning how to make items from scratch to add in too! Although I guess it would be a pain in the ass to add them to loot tables, so maybe I could jsut make special items that would be in certain chests for custom quests or something?
Yay, jsut re-textured my first weapon! :D

Heheheh!! :D:D
Just got a little bored and made a 5 min mod, and what for you ask? A lightsaber!!
That's right! :P Only 445kb, and you can have your very own! The texture is jsut something really silly jsut for a laugh, and a reskin of a longsword, and then I've added sounds for getting your sword in and out, and swinging, hehe. I would finish it by adding the hit sounds too, but I can't be bothered getting them, unless somebody actually wants it!? lol!! :D hehe
Anyways, this modding stuff is fuuunn!! And thats another good thing I've learned to do now, custom sounds for everything in the game too! :P

I can't take in-game screenshots though, so it's a bit hard! :( I'll find some links later to some of the best tools.
But for now at least, here's the Elder Scrolls Consrtuction Set (http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_utilities.htm), and a link to the tutorials (http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Main_Page).
They show you how to make levels and such. And once you get the hang of that, you should know a bit more about the layout of the files, and the rest comes alot more naturally. To just replace custom textures/sounds/models though, you need to get an unpacker, which there is a good one here - Top link (http://www34.brinkster.com/ghostwheel/) (Just read the readme with it). This easily allows you to track down individual files, and then just tweak them one by one.
You CAN replace them using the CS, but it's easier just to do it yourself tbh by making a couple of new files and folders. I'll try and make a tutorial later!

Oh and J, this is what I'm working on atm
http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/415/newblade3ou.jpg
And the best thing about that sword is, it took me about 2 mins, so could be touched up, ALOT, and that all texture editting! So jsut a bit of photoshop work.
The "light-maps" (or whatever they are called!) on the sword are saved in a second texture file for the sword, (see below) so it's really easy to customise your weapons. I'm going to try playing with something a little more complex in a bit, and try adding some runes up my sword blade!
First thing is the Iron Longsword tex file, jsut sharpened a bit.

And this is the light-map file. And I've just painted a groove up the center!

ooh I might make a smaller than average shield that looks more like a bracer... for the ninja type character using a normal katana :D

Well I've seen quite a few people working on making a dagger that you can block with intead of shield, although its not quite working apparently! Something annoyingly technical :P

This (http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=9996&pl=game&type=wmv) makes me wonder what kind of freaks modders are!
