Well once again, I was bored :)

So I'v been posting on the mxo forums, and the outlook is depressing for the game. I sat there thinking to myself, however much I love the game now, when I get to a stage where content runs out what will I do? Are we paying for a beta game?

I began thinking of other mmorpgs people keep comparing mxo to. One of which being swg, which IMO sounds amazing! So I decided I'd do abit of research, and see whether my obsession with mxo, was merely based on the movies.

Looking through the Starwars galaxies forums I noticed some common themes that are shared with mxo:

a) This game is still in beta! These 2 expansion packs are a waste of money, and should also still be in beta! I can't believe I'm paying.

b) (in archived forums) The combat system is poor, and there is not enough content! At the moment it is impossible to level up fully, and it's just a endless grind!

c) (new post in swg forums) OMG the new combat system sucks! How could you get rid of the classic!? This game is in beta! How do I cancel?? It's too easy to be a jedi, and the content is all pvp once u reach it!

So in short... I'm not quiting mxo :) This game is currently pratically a beta... along with every other mmorpg on the market :P
I think instead, I'l level to the top, do everything I can in it. Get involved in events, and be happy knowing that if I go on holiday, when I come back after a month or 2, the game will have grown a new pair of legs. One pair of several I'm sure it will keep growing :D

I was very reluctant to try any mmo tbh, cus i always saw them as glorified chat rooms and or not free enough for me to be the character i wanted to play. I was finally tempted by 'City of Heroes' and that is a cool and very well polished game where it is possible to have a lot of fun, however it isn't easy to rp and the combat is kinda depersonalised.

The amazing thing to me is that MxO is stuffed full of wild and frustrating bugs and can be very laggy - yet i still come back to play it (and haven't even considered returning to COH).....the game is so good it can still hook me despite all the problems etc. As and if and when they actually sort the bugs it will be phenomenal. (yeah and Nova I agree mounts would kick it into orbit)

Oh and a lot of people I know play WOW...its just personal but I feel the whole Wizards, Dwarfs and Trolls thing has been way done to death i much prefer the contemporary setting! MxO for me for sure!

I just like to wonder to myself what wacky and wild new expansion packs will come out in the future!

tbh, I think they'l save player constructs for an expansion pack in 4-5 months, then mounts will be added within a game patch at probs about 9-12 months. :)
