For those with a wii, it might have some functionality now other than waiting for Smash Bros and Mario Kart....
The BBC now offers time limited replays of tv to wii users accessible over the wiis internet connection.

I've been wondering ith Nova, do you needa tv license to watch iPlayer etc?
The law was changed in 2005 from "need an arial" to "need any screen that is capable of displaying transmitted images".
This includes your PC monitor at Uni.
So yes, you need a license just to own any screen now, not just TVs.

just checked a few websites, and from everything I've read, it's absolutely legal with no tv license.
Currently it costs 500 wii points to acccess, and then it's free (unlike 4OD which is basically the same service). The BBC want to make it totally free though. Sounds good to me :p

My link:

I don't know if this has since changed though.
According to the link, as long as it's on demand, it's legal.... streaming live content needs a license though.
Cool, nice one J.
Get a better picture on iPlayer too.

Indeedy, gonna look more seriously into it I guess. I watch so little tv as it is (probably only obscure one off shows) that I'd be happier watching it all online anyway. down with the license! ;)

iPlayer is great for a random schedule. I have found I watch iPlayer on my iPhone (through work's wireless connection ;) ) a lot more than I watch the TV.
