Edit by DS - This is a link for the latest version of Fraps, registered. It is a program used to record in-game footage, and is what most people who make all these in-game videos you see. There are a few problems setting it up if you have already installed a trial on your computer, but you can find the steps to fix it jsut below. If anyone wants/need it, I'll write a tutorial on how to use it, but I think it's pretty self explanitory.
Cel's OP - As a few people wanted fraps i figured id just upload it and put a linkie in here..
Just install and it should already be registered ^^

ill think of something ad! ;) by the way i have no idea who that clutch_junkie person is? ah well.
and fraps is a tool that lets you monitor your fps in games and also allows you to record movies of whats happening on screen, also a screenshot feature which is a little pointless as theres already a built in one

I think that the problem is a confliction with a file left over from the previous installation Jekht, something to do with the registration maybe. I've tried it on other comps and it works fine, but just on here where I had to un-install it first, its bugged, same as yours.
If I find out what file it is, I'll let you know.
Right Fixed, here are the steps that I followed, and then below the forum where I found it!
- Uninstall fraps.
- In regedit, delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Licenses
- Jump to your C:/Documents and Settings/<username>/Local Settings/Temp folder and delete the "*.tmp" files. (hidden folder)
- Go to Dead (http://rapidshare.de/files/3211405/trl-re.rar.html), download, extract, run program. From the top drop down menu, do armadillo -> scan, then do armadillo -> clear. (This might remove some other licenses if you have them, but I dont, so just fraps for me! There were 3 things for me it removed, a licenses folder, and 2 randoms)
- Install the new Fraps
- Enjoy Pirate's Fraps, a Buccaneer's Best Friend!

k, need urgent help plz ^^
ANyone know of a program that can 'glue' several movie parts together?
I have several large pieces of footage which i need to combine into one before adding music and encoding to divx, but my current editor program only goes up to 3.99GB (which the files combined supercede)
Anyone know of such a prog? Just a name will suffice, doesn't need to be free either. i have my ways...

Well Umm, can you not use the shit thing we're all using, Win Movie Maker?
If not, just do a search for mpg splitter/joiner on google or whatever, millions of progs like that.
Or Adobe After Effects always works too.

Does anyone know how to stop FRAPS from skipping frames? Or the best settings to have the FPS rate set to on the FRAPS controll panel?
Nomatter what I set the bloody thing to it allways seems to skip one or two frames intermittently. IE: The game I want to record runs frames 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. but FRAPS will only record frames 1, 3 and 5... It's annoyin' me now... Played with graphics settings, freed up mem, all sorts...
Just makes for a really 'jerky' scene.

Would help if we could see it, I been working on a new sig / playing with animating my own intros / animated text into movie clips etc... But with FRAPS missing frames it kinda ripples on to that and not only do you get a jerky picture you get a jerky animation over-top if that makes sense... What annoys me is that I've had it running fine before GRARGH bloody thing.
Twags where's this anim then?

Yeah it's nearly 4am, can I have sleep before I attempt it? lol
Theres an option to record x% of frames.
Set it to 100%, full size, full rez.
