Looks interesting... another sci-fi MMO placed for this year. Let's see more sci-fi MMOs please! :)

Take a look at the e3 2007 vids. You can get the on fileplanet (http://www.fileplanet.com/179031/170000/fileinfo/Tabula-Rasa---E3-2007-Gameplay-Footage-Package) or Youtube no doubt! The fileplanet is a pack of 3 gameplay vids though.
Kinda doesn't look as impressive as it used to imo :(

I had a chance for the beta on this but had already lost interest by then...seems a bit on the bland side.

gotta the same feelings here. loked good bout a year ago first glimpse but now ive seen the gameplay footage i mean... what.... it just looks... dull...
the chara in the vid has 2 attacks (from hotbar anyway) and just runs in circles in all 3 vids with (in my opinion) extrememely over the top explosions n effects. just seems like a complete basic mmo attrition of numbers combat system as usual. just stand there reactionless whilst mashing a button watchin big numbers go down.
gotta say considering this is the last chance for Richard 'Lord British' Garriott (dumbass name) to prove he's still got it after the awfullness that was Ultima IX:ascension (1999) i really just dont.....get it......
he harps on about how great this game wil be because of a universal hyroglyph symbol language uniting players accross the globe. but ...thats its only Unique Selling point... (also debatable as unique since final fantasy online had a macro'd speech system for players to communicate basic phrases in diff langauages). I mean plus wont servers be separated by location anyway for better ping etc.... ? so how much difference can it really make...
I mean to be fair the guy did arguably invent the MMORPG with ultima online in 1997 with Origin... (sorry WOW fanboys you werent actually the first, no matter how much you try to say u were!) but in 10 years the world has moved on Mr Garriott, and it seems perhaps you have not...

:(
I was curious about Tabula Rasa because of it's Sci-Fi edge (I can't stand the fantasy genre I'm afraid) and had high hopes for it. A couple of mates of mine were lookin at it seriously as well. If there's a free trial thing that doesn't involve putting in credit card details and then cancelling then I'll still give it a looksie.
