According to worthplaying.com, Battlestar Galactica will feature both single- and multi-player modes and will allow the player to take part in space battles piloting for either the humans or Cylon forces. Notable ships from the popular television show will be featured as well as missions based on favorite episodes.

"We're huge fans of Battlestar Galactica and are thrilled to have the opportunity to create a game inspired by the TV series," said Ed Zobrist, president of Sierra Online. "NBC Universal is working closely with us so that players will be able immerse themselves in the Battlestar Galactica universe and re-live their favorite missions from the TV series."

Developed by Australian-based Auran Games, Battlestar Galactica will feature both single- and multi-player modes and allow the player to take part in intense space battles as a pilot for either the humans or Cylon forces. Legendary ships from the television show will be featured as well as missions based on favorite episodes. The popular TV series has received rave reviews from the press. Entertainment Weekly said "Battlestar Galactica is TV's next great cult hit" and Variety said "Battlestar Galactica achieves what only the best science fiction can ..."


Developed by Australian-based Auran Games, Battlestar Galactica, not yet rated by the ESRB, will be available on Xbox Live Arcade, as well as PC, in Fall 2007.

interesting.... seems sci-fi is going to be 2009s big thing, in comparrison to 2006s fantasy. Hurah!

May be interesting, though overall I dont see it offering the variety of stargate in mmo terms.

I doubt it will be interesting really. A good MMO is about the unheralded masses that populate a particular environment. How will that relate to BSG? - Is everyone gonna be a viper pilot or a cylon raider pilot? I suppose there is the support option of a raptor? It's can't compare to EVE because the universe is very insular and based around the fleet (or maybe the Cylon attack fleet). There is no concept of trading, mining, manufacturing.

I can see it working as a space battle genre singleplayer - or multiplayer hosted. Can't see it working as an MMO
