Sweet!

Well it's decided in the next 2 weeks I will have this set up of a PC.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
ABIT AW9D - Max Motherboard
OCZ 2gb PC2 - 8500 RAM x 2 (so 4 gig of RAM)
Samsung Spinpoint HD080HJ 80gig HD (for windows and other programs)
300gig External Hardrive (for everything else)
Sony AW-G170AB2 DVD - ReWriter
BFG Geforce 8800 GTS 640mb GPU
Thermal Take Case Kandalf LCS VD4000 BWS Black case with water cooling system in Neon Blue Lighting.
Neovo K-A19 19" Widescreen LCD Black Monitor
X-Power 600w PSU.

So I will be using the max settings in 2 weeks YAY!

so yeah my case will looking something like this....

I can't wait to see MxO in the total max graphics...I think I will just go nuts when I do lol. I know there are better set ups than the PC I'm building but with the motherboard and chipset I can always upgrade whenever I like, I just don't wanna spend 2k on a pc just right now so a 1k will be fine for me.

*Ahem*

Buying a new PC a matter of weeks before the current generation of OS's and drivers become obsolescent, along with their chipsets.

Interesting move.

/me waits patiently for Vista SP1.

I'm holding out for the next wave of AMDs. Although having said that my current setup still runs everything at max. DX10 is going to force my hand I think but still won't be for a while.

And Twaggy, I cannot stress enough how much better your gaming experience will be by incorporating a RAID0 HDD setup. With those components your HDD will be letting the side down. Fine, stick with a single drive for system files but get 2x 250GB 7200rpm drives and RAID the feckers together.

Oh and it's your fault this thread has gone off topic :p

'Tis the one regret I have about my system. Though I still love my baby...

Off topic? As long as it's graphic related should be on topic enough.

Think you might be right, I will get RAID 0. Thanks V.

ICH7R: 4 x SATA 3Gb/s (http://www.abit.com.tw/engineered/features.htm?17) supports Intel® Matrix Storage SATA RAID 0/1/0+1/5
Silicon Image:3132: 4 x SATA 3Gb/s (http://www.abit.com.tw/engineered/features.htm?17), two SATA connectors of the same area can support SATA RAID 0/1

Plenty of options for RAID on your new mobo. May as well use 'em.

x2 10k raptors in RAID0 = Nice

I hear Raptor is good but they wont do it with SATA-II just yet cause everything else would not be able to keep up, this true?
