This games the sex isnt it? :P
Im playing an Agent build (made it then realised was in the premade list already :P)
I stick to being a thief, and work for the thieves guild.
So far been in jail twice. Once for getting caught, once for a business arrangement.
However my most daring thievery operation, was jumping from height onto a docked ship to avoid the crew (all blood thirsty pirates), jumping into the captains room, robbing him blind for all his treasure, and then jumping into the water as the pirates caught sight of "someone" stealing their goods ;)
Basically I love this game, and so far, the thief aspect (the bit Iv done the most of) is better than the game Thief3.
Post your experience up!

Right, what have I done?
I started the game exploring, I found a man on a farm, and he saked me to head to a nearby cave to retrieve his wfie's amulet. And I thought "hey, a nice intor quest, let's give it a go!".
I got back, and he rewarded me with the mighty sum of 10 gold. 10 gold... Thats it. I was furious! So I waited until he went to sleep. That little bastard, he wasn't getting away with this! I risked my life for him! It was all too easy, I slowly cracked open the lock on his rickety wooden door, and slipped inside. There he lay, sleeping. Probably having a dream about how he ripped me off. But that would soon change.
I crept across the room and drew my bow, and shot my arrow into his stomach. He lurched forward, and before he even had the time to scream, I plunged my dagger into his throat. He was dead, and I felt good. I felt great, like a god amongst men! I had shown this man that he was merely a bug beneath my foot, and I had the power to deal with him as I saw fit.
This is how my life in Oblivion began. This is how my life continues still.
I spent the night in a nearby tavern. Dreaming gleefully of slashing that pathetic little worm to ribbons. Oh how he deserved it. Oh how I enjoyed it.
I awoke suddenly to find a presence in my room. A man dressed in black, a hood pulled down across his face, and skin as pale as the moon.
He explained to me how he was a member of the infamous organisation known as the "Dark Brotherhood", an extension of the "Black Hand". He gave me a note, which I hastely read. It gave details of an old wizard, one who had caused some troubles for the guild in the past. This was to be my initiation...

I am now Grand Champion of the Arena, Listener of the Black Hand. I ride a Demon horse by the name of 'Shadowmere'. I move faster than you can see, I travel in the shadows. I can land an arrow between your eyes from 500ft. I can have a knife in your back before you can even breath. I am the Assassin.
This is how my life in Oblivion began. This is how my life continues still.

ok..now this is getting plain wierd. i too am a thief lol. well ok, my build is called a 'shade'. strange thing is ive never played a thief b4. this game is sucking away my DDO hours too lol. but il get back to DDO soon too cos again i love that too. imagine tho for a moment... online multiplayer Oblivion :S now that is waht i want to see. id never leave the house again.
anyways, yeah my chara is just amazing. (next time im gonna play as a dark elf necromancer/vampire) im a wood elf thief , expert marksman , and professional alchemist. i whip up potions on the fly for any situation. i sneak attack from afar with a poison tipped arrow for 3x damage and laugh as my prey searches for me, running helplessly , their health fading and for them to drop dead at my feet by the time they finally spot me. pesky mages? no problem , with my all new patented formula . silence, intelligence drain , willpower drain, and magicka drain, thats four effects! but wait , theres more! my new design comes in ONE easy to use formula. thats right, four effects , in ONE shot!. killing those mages has never been easier. Its fun for all the family as you watch as those wizened old men stumble about and try to poke you with a small butter knife. its like fighting a wet paper bag.
even better, since my speed is so high fighting the melee specialists is even easier. troll dancing has never been so satisfying! 'i can dance all day!, i can dance all day' ' TRY an hit me!' all you FPS doug fans will cry. i can actually run backwards faster than they can chase so i can turn them into pincushions without them even getting near. however, since my arrogance has now increased to godlike levels, i find it more satisfying to repeatedly taunt any poor beast i come across by running straight at it , touching it (troll tag is so good!) and letting an arrow off into its armpit, before backing off about a mile and watch its slow brain register , its arms raise , and it to take a swipe at the air i was stood at 10 minutes before.
i cant describe how good this game is. the radiant AI isnt as great as they hyped, true. but even so i still feel its a huge step up from any other game. lol even if npcs do seem to have the ' i dont liek mudcrabs' conversation a million times a day.

oh ps. for a first game , get the birthsign of the lover. lovers kiss IS hilarious, especially if u do it when some poor enemy is chasing u uphill and u watch them tumble awkwardly back down again lol.

omg! lol this game gets even better. i jsut randomly heard a painter was missing, decided to check out his studio (and perhaps steal some artwork ) and whilst trying to steal a painting got SUCKED INTO A PAINTED WORLD!! lol turns out the artist had a divine brush of truepaint, and now im trapped inside too. a thief stole his brush and made some painted trolls to protect him. trolls being trolls, they ripped him to shreds. now i have to kill the painted trolls and get teh brush back to escape. the painter has given me bottles of turpentine to kill them with lol . how cool. cant describe how good the painted forest looks though. ill get a screenie if i can :)

I am an Assassin. But a custom build. Born under the sign of the Steed. And have visited the shrine to recieve a blessing. So once a day thats +20 to speed and acrobatics, and +20 to L.Armour, +20 Acro, +20 Spd.
I now have nearly 100 in all my skills. And am currently looking for a cure for my vampirism should I need it.

Weird Nova! You'd better send me a pic of the location later :P
Has anyone else struggled to get Screenshots to work btw?
I've changed the ini files, and even told Nova how to do his! Apprently I should be getting a message in game saying "Screenshot saved." or something like that?
Well, I'm not! :( Any ideas?

Well, personally i was a warrior. My mighty ebony sword struck fear into the hearts of men. I slew the grey prince with great ease and skill (partly because he was so distressed to learn of his vampiric roots) I had closed many a gate to oblivion, enchanting my armour with its unwoven magic to create a force never seen on Tamriel. I slew many a demon and all who opposed me but unfortunately, my HDD broke and now i have to start from scratch lol i was lvl 19 aswell. DAMN.

I bought Oblivion last night on a whim. Was passing the shelf in Asda and it somehow fell into the trolley - once there I thought it bad manners to put it back on the shelf.
Installed it last night but didn't get chance to do anything other than get to the character creation screen.
I was gonna bring the manual to work for something to do. But forgot :( so anyone fancy posting a pdf or something that I can read to get a head start in what I need to do.
Cheers
Now I've also gotta hope the thing runs okish on my system  . The char creation screen seemed ok so that's a start.

I'm sure using bittorrent at work is frowned upon even more than accessing the main DN1 forums.
Now if that 650M strategy guide was hosted somwhere hmmmmm?
Or you could post some hints here to get me started. Mainly what not to do first to stop me wasting my time on useless things.
:)
