I'm gonna buy a new gfx down to the fact that the one i have at the mo is utter cat litter.

So if any of you can suggest a really good card (looking to spend £100 max) i'd be very grateful.

I'm looking for something that'll makes games look and play luverly, so something that can handle a decent level of detail with top FPS is what i need.

Looked at the Nvidia Geforce 7 7300 GS, but it looks like an update of the 6200 turbocache which is crap, so all your thought s please....... :)

I'm not gonna suggest anything cos I'll leave that up to the experts on here. But I'm guessing the first thing they'll want to know is what type of motherboard you have

I had a 6600GT for AGP slot .... MxO looked nice with it, but I couldn't play with max detail and 1280x1024
Now i have a 7600GT for PCI-E and I can play MxO with 1280x1024, full detail, AA and all the stuff and it's sooooooooo smoth now :)

Well I can only give you my experience. I have far better things to spend 800quid on (where the fek is my pound sign!!!!!!! - my keymappings are all screwed)...

I've started so I'll finish...... I too wanted to spend about 100 on a new gfx card. I had an ATI x300SE that came with the comp and it always seemed lacking.

I spent 79 on an ATI x700SE - at pcworld!!!!! cos, although I looked for ages, it eventually came down to an impulse buy cos I could never decide online which card to go for. PCworld gave me less choice.....

I've been very happy with the money I spent. It allowed me to play Oblivion and I can play mxo windowed of full detail at 1280x800 (my LCD only goes up to 1280x1024 anyway)

How it fares with FPS I have no knowledge of - cos I haven't owned one since I realised I didn't like Unreal Tournament back in 1999 on a crappy old PC and dialup 33K modem.

Now to find out what the fek has happened to my keymap

I'd stretch it out to £140-150 and get a Radeon X1800 XT.

Great card.

ATI ftw.

Check your keyboard settings on control panel are English UK and not English US. Mine switch back all the freaking time! :(

Still haven't decided on the card i am gonna get!!!

This is due to there being so much bloody choice out there and having to research each one is far too much work!

Anyways thinking of this 256MB XFX GeForce 7600GT XXX Edition PCI-E

Think i read J1GOKU had one of these. Out of all the 7600gt chips about , this seems like the best of the bunch.

Yep, the 7600gt is a good card - best cost/performance ratio IMO, but I think i should have spend 100€ more to get a 7900gt (256bit memory interface instead of 128bit), but nevertheless a good card.
