I do admire all the excellent movies that have been made here and elsewhere, but can't help feeling the medium presents a lot of very significant challenges when it comes to relaying a real story....not least of which is dialogue and expostition.

The solution imo is to go for a comic format, if done correctly this could actually be something everyone can contribute to and indeed we could evolve a story in stages.....I'm still mulling over a way to do this easily but for now what I would ask is that everyone who visits this site adopts an outfit and whenever you encounter a LE character even as an NPC you take the oppertunity to catch a few interesting screenies.....keeping your constume consistent will begin to form a library of frames which we could then pool to make up story frames etc.

The comic can form an ongoing report of Matrix activity, could document a few know missions (the crits in partic) for a knowledge database and even be used to form a tutorial of sorts for newbies......

More when I can think about it......

I love it, I think it's a great format...

SEE? (http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/matrix/board/message?board.id=Events_Vector&message.id=4060&jump=true)

OK so it's not the best in the world... but as Jek says, the background is ace!

Yes I thought that was great stuff Dv, what I was thinking was a method to evolve a perpetual event inside MxO.....suppose we form a library of images that we can use to build up a picture of events, we include background and details as we do from missions and pvp......we assemble a set of frames to progress a segment of a story and then we pitch that as the creation of a task/teaser/objective to another participating faction......they fill in the next set of frames...it comes back to us or goes to a third group....the story evolves....interactive fiction, interactive gameplay....somewhere in the midst of this is the essence of making every day in the matrix mean something because we relate it to what we did and even use it to decide what we do next..... Its still got some rough edges but I think there is something very positive in taking this course.

Ahhh, I see, like an episode ends with someone putting something in a safe somewhere, and the next one starts with the next participant taking it out... like a metaphorical "comickers-baton".

I like the idea of recording an evening's pvp and ending in a teaser, then posting it to another faction and getting them to work out what the hell we're up to... great way to kick off an RP too.

Let me know when you want to start doing this, I think it's a classic idea and offer any help I can. The only reason I didn't make more was, well, subject matter is a bit thin!

I have loads and loads of pics of the main characters if you want them.
